Osisko announces management changes

TSX-V-listed Osisko Metals has appointed geologist Robert Wares, currently the chairperson of the board, as executive chairperson.

Wares has more than 35 years’ experience in mineral exploration and development, and was one of the three original founders of Osisko Exploration/Osisko Mining.

“Bob has been instrumental in developing the vision of Osisko Metals. In my point of view he is the best mining project generator in both the gold and base metal space. This has led to the discovery of the Canadian Malartic (gold) and Taylor (zinc) mines. As we continue to move our flagship projects forward, Bob’s regular involvement in exploration, resource base development, as well as his extensive network in the financial markets, will undoubtedly move Osisko Metals to the next level,” said Osisko president Jeff Hussey.

The company also announced the appointment of Anthony Glavac as CFO and Lili Mance as corporate secretary. Glavac has more than 17 years of experience in financial reporting, including over 12 years in the mining industry.

Osisko controls Canada’s two premier zinc mining camps, namely the Pine Point Camp located in the Northwest Territories and the Bathurst Mining Camp, located in northern New Brunswick.
