Origin posts solid results on APLNG record

PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed energy provider Origin Energy has reported a 4% increase in quarterly revenues from its integrated gas business, as the Australia Pacific liquefied natural gas (APLNG) project delivered record production.

“APLNG has again delivered a strong performance with record production and 35 cargoes loaded and shipped for the quarter, while continuing to be a major supplier into the domestic market,” said Origin CEO Frank Calabria.

Production from the APLNG project increased to 67.6 PJ during the quarter, up from the 66.5 PJ produced in the previous quarter, while sales volumes also rose by 3%, from 63.2 PJ to 65.4 PJ.

Commodity revenues increased from A$688.3-million to A$716.5-million over the same period.

LNG revenue was up 9% on the September quarter, to A$657-million, in line with increased volumes, while domestic gas revenues declined by 31%, to A$59.5-million owing to lower seasonal demand.
