The New South Wales government has granted ASX-listed Aurelia Metals a mining lease for its Federation zinc, lead and gold project.
The lease covers 3 885 ha and has been granted for 21 years.
“The grant of the Federation mining lease is another significant milestone for Aurelia and further derisks the delivery of the Federation project,” comments MD and CEO Bryan Quinn.
The project is currently under construction and development ore is expected in 2024.
Over an eight-year initial mine life, Federation is expected to recover 45 000 t/y of zinc, 46 000 t/y of lead, 1 000 t/y of copper, 15 000 oz/y of gold and 39 000 oz/y of silver.
