New butt welding machine on show

29th August 2014

Pipe tool manufacturer Rothenberger South Africa will put on show its new hydraulic Roweld Premium CNC butt welding machine at Electra Mining Africa 2014.

The machine enables nearly fully automated operation when connecting plastic pipes with diameters of between 90 mm and 630 mm.

“During the welding process, all movements are performed by the machine, including dragging resistance and bead development measurement. Automatic extending heading element enables a fully automatic welding process,” Rothenberger reports.

The Roweld Premium CNC with integrated control and touchscreen panel saves all welding parameters to ensure optimum data evaluation. The evaluation enables conformity with the guidelines of the German welding society, DVS, and other applicable international guidelines and standards.

Rothenberger says the machine allows for the easy monitoring of the welding process. For instance, visual colour indication and an acoustic warning signal are used to precisely indicate the welding pressure, welding temperature and the welding times. A USB interface for uncomplicated data transfers completes the user-friendly features of the Roweld Premium CNC.

Rothenberger has been one of the world’s leading manufacturers of pipe tools and pipe machining machines used in the sanitary, heating, air-conditioning, refrigeration, gas and environmental technology sectors for more than 60 years.
