PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Project house Monadelphous has been awarded a A$160-million construction contract at the Sino iron-ore project, in Western Australia.

The contract included the structural, mechanical and piping installation and commissioning works within concentrator lines, and work was expected to start immediately.

The Sino project will generate around A$111-billion in direct revenue to the Australia economy, and A$5.5-billion in royalties for Western Australia. Once in full operation, the Sino project would produce about 27.6-million tonnes of iron-ore concentrate a year, with the project estimated to have a 30-year mine life.
