MICROMINE’s Academic Licensing Scheme continues to grow with the Universitas Pembangunan Nasional ‘Veteran’ Yogyakarta signing an Academic Agreement that will see Micromine introduced as part of the university’s mining and geology courses.

MICROMINE staff including the Director of MICROMINE Indonesia, Dr Lobo Balia, and Regional Manager, Myke Jones, as well as 100 UPN alumni attended a signing ceremony at the university on December 16th.  The event was covered by TV network Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVI).

During the ceremony, the General Manager of Adaro Energy, Priyadi Sutarso, expressed his gratitude to MICROMINE for working with his alma mater and hoped for a long and successful partnership. Dr Balia also delivered a presentation on ‘Quantitative Geology’ that demonstrated how geological and mining activities can be captured with Micromine as long as mining engineers can translate the data into numbers.

Speaking to reporters, Mr Jones commented “We are excited to have partnered with UPN and we look forward to a successful relationship. With over 2000 students in its mining and geology department, UPN has a strong platform on which they can help develop Indonesia’s mining and geological industry.”
