MICROMINE and Sandvik Group sign strategic agreement in Russia

28th October 2016

The strategic alliance builds on Sandvik’s leadership in mining equipment and MICROMINE’s expertise in underground production operations management. The coalition adds to the stable of integrations MICROMINE’s Pitram product has with major OEM’s and other vendors. Being ‘hardware agnostic’ is a unique strength of Pitram. It enables customers to have a single system to collect, store and report on multiple data sources. This provides a holistic view of operations for quick and confident decision making.

Boris Kurtsev, Regional Manager Russia, CIS and Ukraine, MICROMINE, said “The main aim of the partnership is to introduce innovative technologies in the mining sphere here in Russia.” Micromine envisages machine connections, such as this Sandvik integration, will enable a deeper analysis and understanding of how assets are operated. The historical operational data will contribute to future best practices and assist in enabling varying levels of autonomy in underground mining.

By combining technology, expertise and experience, the companies are creating a framework to facilitate the sharing of data among systems. MICROMINE is excited about the recent alliance and views it as a major step forward for the mining industry in Russia.
