JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Ferrochrome producer Merafe Resources on Wednesday reported a 4% year-on-year increase to 103 000 t in attributable ferrochrome production from the Glencore Merafe Chrome Venture for the first quarter of the year.
This was compared with attributable ferrochrome production of 99 000 t in the first quarter of 2015.
The higher output was mainly owing to additional tonnes from the Lion II furnaces that were now fully operational.
