MECK Projects & Engineering

Johannesburg-based project management company MECK Projects & Engineering specialises in project management and implementation services for the resource, industrial and commercial sectors.

MECK has worked on several projects across Africa, overseeing earthmoving workshops, as well as the installation of conveyors and crushers and the delivery of specialised vehicles, trailers and mobile mining equipment.

The company also provides sort-houses and glove-boxes to suit individual client needs and manufactures a grease diamond recovery unit, which is fully automated and hands-free, resulting in a secure, clean and grease-free product.

Although registered in 2005, MECK Projects & Engineering teamed up with Oblique Engineering in 2009 to commission chrome and platinum-group metals plants in the Rustenburg area. At the end of 2011, a decision was made for Oblique Engineering to focus on the diamond business and for MECK to focus on all other work.

Currently in the process of obtaining its ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accreditations, MECK’s employment strategy is to hold a core team of experts as permanent employees and to employ additional resources when required. This enables the company to reduce overhead costs and, in turn, optimise its cost-effective delivery.

The family-owned business has continued to operate from its premises in Spartan, on the East Rand, and is still jointly involved with Oblique Engineering on diamond projects in South Africa.
