MCC, the contract mining, plant leasing and rental division of JSE-listed Eqstra, continues to prove that commitment to partnering with its clients to ensure joint survival and success in the globally constrained mining market has resulted in the improved performance and growth of its order book.

MCC, established in March 1972, is driven to provide the best and most innovative solutions in the areas of opencast mining, plant leasing and rental solutions within the mining, civils, earthmoving and construction industries globally.

Yielding a turnover of R4.1-billion for the year ended June 30, 2015, the company’s mining clients comprise the Pilanesberg platinum mine/MCC alliance with midtier platinum-group metals producer Sedibelo Platinum Mines; Delta Mining Corporation’s Nsele coal mine, in Mpumalanga; platinum and chrome producer Tharisa Minerals’ Tharisa chrome mine, 95 km north-west of Johannesburg; cement manufacturer Sephaku Cement’s Aganang mine, in Lichtenburg, in the North West; and the Lucara Diamond mine, in Karowe, Botswana.

MCC’s mining service offering includes load-and-haul solutions, reefing, ore mining waste removal, ground rehabilitation, bulk earthworks and mine planning, as well as used equipment sales.

In addition, MCC supplies drilling, blasting and engineering expertise together with leasing and rental solutions to meet its clients’ needs.

MCC’s equipment offering includes excavators ranging from 20 t to 600 t and articulated dump trucks and rigid dump trucks from 20 t to 220 t, as well as all the support equipment required, such as dozers, loaders, bowsers and graders.
