London-listed Botswana Diamonds has announced that first recoveries of diamonds are expected this month at the alluvial and dump mine at Marsfontein, in Limpopo, operated by subsidiary Vutomi.

Site establishment began during the course of the last week of January.

Since then, about 1 500 t of eluvial gravels from the main Marsfontein pipe have been excavated and are awaiting processing.

The processing plant has been established and commissioning with gravels has begun.
