Vandita Pant
Diversified mining major BHP on Thursday unveiled a major reshuffling of its top executives, assembling a team with the “right mix of skills and experience” to deliver its strategy and pursue its growth agenda.
Vandita Pant, currently chief commercial officer, has been appointed CFO, succeeding David Lamont on March 1. Lamont will remain with BHP until February 2025 as a senior executive officer in an advisory and projects capacity.
Rug Udd will step into the role that Pant vacates, taking up the position of chief commercial officer. Udd is currently BHP president Americas and, since his appointment in November 2020, has taken the Jansen project through to sanction, opening up a growth front for BHP.
Brandon Craig, who is currently asset president for Western Australia Iron Ore, will succeed Udd as president Americas.
Johan van Jaarsveld, currently chief development officer, has been appointed chief technical officer, replacing Laura Tyler, who will leave BHP on February 29, 2024.
The company has not yet named a successor for Van Jaarsveld as chief development officer.
CEO Mike Henry thanked Lamont and Tyler for their contribution to BHP.
