JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – TSX-listed Luna Gold on Monday reported the departure of its executive VP and CFO Duane Lo, effective June 30.

Luna president and CEO Marc Leduc noted that Lo had made significant contributions to the company over the past six years. “He has been an important leader and integral part of restructuring the company during this difficult transition as we move to a new phase for the company."

Brad Blacketor would take over from Lo as CFO, effective July 7, while Lo would remain affiliated with Luna for a period to assist in the transition.

Blacketor had more than 20 years of financial experience in the mining industry, 11 years of which was spent as Metallica Resources CFO prior to the company’s merger with New Gold. He was also the previous CFO at Gold Resource, Bear Creek Mining, Metallica Resources and MinCorp. Most recently Blacketor was CFO at Midway Gold.

Leduc, who had worked with Blacketor at Bear Creek Mining, said: "I know what a valuable asset Brad will be to Luna with his dedicated work ethic and strong financial skills.”
