JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – JSE-listed Lonmin is on the hunt for a new CFO, as Simon Scott plans to bow out after five-and-a-half years to pursue other interests.

While an official exit date was yet to be determined, it was expected that he would step down from the board and his directorship following the group’s interim results publication in May.

Scott would remain on in a transitional role post the results.

“After successfully completing last year's fundraising in an exceptionally challenging market, it is now the right time for me to pursue other interests,” Scott said in a statement on Tuesday.

Lonmin’s nomination committee, which was at an advanced stage in its search, would announce a successor in due course.

“Over the past five-and-a-half years, Simon has played an important role during a difficult period for Lonmin, both as CFO and acting CEO,” said chairperson Brian Beamish, who wished Scott a successful future.
