JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – A Lonmin employee has died of his injuries following a vehicle accident at the Hossy shaft.
The platinum miner on Wednesday said the accident had occurred on Tuesday morning and that a full investigation into the incident was under way.
“I am sure everyone at Lonmin shares my distress at the loss of a colleague under such circumstances; a life cut tragically short and a family left to grieve.
“We are in the process of examining the scene to determine the cause of the accident and we are working with unions and the Department of Mineral Resources to get to the bottom of exactly what led to this incident,” commented CEO Ben Magara.
