South African firm B&W Instrumentation and Electrical has
secured a R5,67-million contract at Debswana’s Damtshaa
Diamond Mine near Orapa, in Botswana.
The contract involves the electrical, instrumentation, lighting and
small-power installation at the Damtshaa double-up project for
Bateman Projects Botswana and its client, Debswana Diamond
Company.
Bateman will effectively double the capacity of the
diamond-pro-cessing plant at Damtshaa to 400 t/h of run-of-mine
kimberlite through a second secondary-crushing stream, stockpile
belt feeders, an additional 150-t/h dense-media separation plant, a
high-rate thickener, a tailings-disposal system and associated
services.
“We are undertaking the electrical and instrumentation
project in conjunction with local partner Bokamoso Engineering of
Botswana.” |
