LEADERSHIP DETERMINATION: The message that South Africa’s Deputy President and newly-elected African National Congress (ANC) president, Cyril Ramaphosa, has for the world is that South Africa should be viewed in a “new way”. He is intent on leading South Africa away from low economic growth towards steadily increasing economic growth, driven by mining, agriculture, manufacture, tourism and financial services. He has expressed the view that South Africa must urgently break the deadlock on the regulation and transformation of the mining sector to turn South Africa’s world-class mineral resources to better account.
