Canada-based miner Pan American Silver has suspended all operating activities at its La Colorada mine, in Mexico, citing security concerns at the mine site and surrounding area.
The company on Thursday reported an armed robbery of two trailers of concentrate.
There were no physical injuries to our personnel in connection with the incident, Pan American said.
While the site is currently secure, Pan American has undertaken care-and-maintenance activities while it works with state and federal authorities regarding the incident.
The suspension would continue until Pan American determined it was appropriate to resume operations, the firm stated.
