JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Employees at Harmony Gold's Kusasalethu mine have returned to work after two days of unprotected industrial action.

Employees reported for work on the night shift on Monday.

The unprotected strike by employees started on November 10, after six employees were dismissed following an extensive disciplinary process.

“For Kusasalethu to be profitable, discipline has to be restored and focus needs to remain on safety and productivity. We call on all unions’ leadership and employees to accept this shared responsibility," CEO Peter Steenkamp said.
