PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Junior coal developer Kuro Coal has again moved to increase its footprint in British Columbia, this time acquiring ten coal licence applications contiguous with the existing Panorama anthracite project.

ASX-listed Atrum Coal on Tuesday announced that its separately listed subsidiary had struck a deal with Panstone Mines and Minerals to obtain the coal licence applications covering some 13 787 ha.

The additional coal licence applications increased Kuro’s footprint in the Panorama coalfield to 33 012 ha. The coalfield is located to the West of the Atrum’s Groundhog project.

The junior miner would now start work to transition the Panstone applications to granted coal licences as part of its preparation for the 2014 exploration programme.
