PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Junior Kibaran Resources has commissioned a scoping study on its Epanko graphite project, in Tanzania, to assess the viability of a commercial mining operation.

The ASX-listed Kibaran said on Thursday that various throughput tonnages would be assessed, with the study expected to use the inputs obtained from recent metallurgical testwork activity and indicative pricing.

The study would be based on an initial inferred Joint Ore Reserves Committee-compliant resource of 14.9-million tonnes, at 10.5% graphite, for 1.56-million tonnes of contained graphite.

The scoping study would likely be completed by the end of July.
