Project Description
The Kangaluwi project has a current mineral resource estimated at 46-million tonnes at 0.67% copper for 300 000 t contained copper from the Kangaluwi, Chisawa and Kalulu deposits at a 0.3% copper cutoff grade.

The project is targeting 7 500 t/y of copper cathode production from an openpit mine in the Lower Zambezi National Park.

The project promises to be the cleanest, greenest and safest copper mine ever built, applying the world’s best practices and technology.

Latest Developments
In November 2014, the High Court of Lusaka ruled that the appeal hearing lodged by certain conservation groups against the decision of the Minister of Lands, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection to allow Zambezi to develop the Kangaluwi copper project was without merit and dismissed.

The High Court also ordered the appellants to pay Zambezi’s costs related to the failed application.
