Headgears in dominant setting at Pan African Resource’s Evander gold mine, close to where the new 400-job Elikhulu retreatment plant is recovering 55 000 oz of gold a year from tailings. The plant uses a carbon-in-leach circuit with a proprietary preoxidation process. The tailings retreatment plant operates at an all-in sustaining cost of production of between $650/oz and $700/oz.
