Junior miner Harte Gold has strengthened its operational management team with new appointments, including that of Dan Gagnon as mine general manager for the Sugar Zone mine, in White River, Canada.

Gagnon brings to Harte Gold over 30 years of experience in geology and general management from a wide range of operations across Canada. He started his career in geology, ending after 13 years as chief geologist at the Musselwhite mine in Ontario. Over the following 17 years, he worked as GM at a number of Canadian operations, most recently the Hope Bay project in Nunavut, Canada.

Other appointments to bolster management include the hiring of Christopher McCann as director of technical services, a new position within the company with the primary focus on engineering design, scheduling and planning capabilities.

Meanwhile, Harte Gold also announced that drilling is under way at the TT8 discovery, about 17 km southeast of the Sugar Zone mine. TT8 consists of a sedimentary hosted package, discovered in an area previously not known to host gold mineralisation. Drilling will test the down dip potential of the mineralised outcrop.

The Sugar Zone mine entered commercial production in 2019. The mine is aiming for production of 42 000 oz to 48 000 oz this year.
