Harmony stops mining at Evander shaft after fatality

JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – South African miner Harmony Gold stopped operations at its Evander No 8 shaft after a worker was killed in a rockfall.
The gold miner said that the rockfall had occurred at about 05:00 at a working area 2 125 m below surface.
The mine’s management and Department of Mineral Resources were conducting an investigation.
