PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed Hannans Reward on Thursday announced that it had acquired a new greenfield exploration project in north-eastern Sweden, which could host nickel/copper/platinum-group elements and gold.

“This is exactly the type of project every explorer wants to secure. We believe there is a large system at depth that has the potential to contain significant quantities of high-value metals,” said Hannans MD Damian Hicks.

He noted that the company had focused on securing the potential pathways these metals could have used to move towards the surface, noting that the regional scale gravity feature on which the project is located, is similar to those associated with the West Musgrave and East Kimberley nickel sulphide provinces, in Western Australia.

“Under the right conditions, this is where economic deposits are likely to form. It is rare to find an opportunity like this in a low sovereign risk country, and we think that this is an incredible opportunity for Hannans,” Hicks added.

The company has lodged permit applications covering the project area.
