PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed Gold Road Resources has flagged the impending retirement of MD and CEO Ian Murray, with the company saying that Duncan Gibbs will be appointed as his successor.

“Gold Road owes enormous gratitude to Murray, who’s leadership of this company has been inspirational and transformative,” said nonexecutive chairperson Tim Netscher.

“This has been a succession planning process that began at the start of this year to ensure an orderly transition and handover and the best possible outcome for Gold Road.”

The transition will take effect from September 17, with Murray remaining a director and assisting Gibbs in the handover until the end of 2018.

Gibss has previously been the GM at gold miner AngloGold Ashanti’s Sunrise Dam and the Tropicana operation. He has a BSc in Geology and is a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
