Godolphin applies to extend Narraburra REE foothold

Exploration company Godolphin Resources has applied for an exploration licence that surrounds its Narraburra rare earth project, in New South Wales, in three directions.

The licence, named Trungley, surrounds Narraburra to the north, east and south, and has the potential to host northern extensions of the rare earth element mineralisation defined on the project, as well as other base metals.

“The considerable landholding that Trungley provides unlocks exploration upside for the company, as well as room for infrastructure as development initiatives commence,” said MD Jeneta Owens.

Once fully granted, Godolphin plans to start exploration to test the potential for primary REE mineralisation and base metals associated with a reduced S-type granite in the north of the tenement, similar to other deposit styles in Australia.

The Narraburra project currently contains 94.9-million tonnes at 739 parts per million (ppm) total rare earth oxides (TREO), including a higher-grade component of 20-million tonnes at  1 079 ppm TREO.
