North America-focused Global Uranium and Enrichment (GUE) has been granted its final permit for the start of exploration activities at its Tallahassee uranium project in Colorado, in the US.

The approval of the notice of intent is the recent approval of the conditional use permit by the Fremont Board of County Commissioners and is the final step that allows the ASX-listed company to start planned exploration activities at the Tallahassee project.

“This is an important milestone for Global Uranium as it will allow us to conduct new exploration programmes that create a pathway towards unlocking more of the significant potential of the Tallahassee uranium project, which is already one of the largest undeveloped uranium projects in the United States,” comments MD Andrew Ferrier.

The Tallahassee project contains a mineral resource estimate of 49.8-million pounds of uranium oxide (U3O8) at a grade of 540 ppm U3O8 with significant exploration upside.

The project is located in Colorado’s Tallahassee Creek uranium district, host to more than 100-million pounds of U3O8.

The immediate next key work activities will include the commencement of a drill programme and completion of a scoping study in 2024.
