PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold developer Gascoyne Resources has tapped fellow-listed NRW Holdings as the preferred mining contractor for a A$300-million contract at its flagship Dalgaranga project, in Western Australia.

The openpit contract, which is subject to finalising of terms and conditions, will cover four pits over a six-year period.

“We are very pleased to have attracted NRW to our project. NRW is a highly respected mining contractor, with the mining experience required for the project with all key personnel and equipment available now, ensuring that we will be able to commence mining in March 2018, in accordance with the development plan,” Gascoyne MD Mike Dunbar said on Thursday.

NRW will initially have 160 personnel on site, with a peak employment of 200.

The Dalgaranga openpit operation is expected to deliver 623 000 oz of gold over the six-year mine life, with the project expected to require a capital spend of A$86-million.
