JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Aim-quoted diamond development company Firestone Diamonds has appointed Glenn Black as chief project officer for the implementation of the company’s fully funded Liqhobong diamond mine, in the Lesotho Highlands.
Black would join the Firestone senior management team with 40 years' experience in the mining industry and over 30 years’ project experience at a senior management level, having managed the full project life cycle for numerous projects.
He spent over 20 years with the De Beers group of companies, working on major projects in Namibia, South Africa, Canada and Botswana and had successfully delivered nine of the largest and most complex projects undertaken by De Beers over this period.
Firestone CEO Stuart Brown said on Thursday that he was delighted to welcome Black to the mine’s senior management team.
“This team will be critical as we start the development and construction of the main treatment plant at Liqhobong, with a view to successful project delivery in early 2016," he said.
