PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Uranium miner Energy Resources of Australia (ERA) has reported a 25% fall in uranium oxide (U3O8) production during the three months to June, compared with the first quarter.

Production for the second quarter fell to 449 t of U3O8, compared with 666 t U3O8 produced in the previous quarter, with all ore sourced from existing stockpiles.

ERA said on Wednesday that planned mill maintenance, including the yearly plant maintenance shutdown, impacted the quantity of the ore milled during the quarter under review.

Despite the lower quarterly production, ERA has maintained its full-year production guidance of between 2 000 t and 2 400 t U3O8.

Meanwhile, ERA continued with the progressive rehabilitation of the Ranger project area during the three months under review, with the dredge continuing to operate with tailings transferred from the tailings storage facility to Pit 3.
