PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold miner Endeavour Mining was nearing completion at its Agbaou gold mine, in Cote d’Ivoire, with some 77% of the $160-million construction budget already committed.

The project was some 75% complete, the ASX- and TSX-listed Endeavour said on Thursday.

Mill components had arrived at the site and the mill installation contract had been awarded. Construction of the power line was also progressing well, while tower installation would start in July.

The North and South pits had been cleared in preparation for grade control drilling, and the tailing storage facility and personnel camp had been completed.

The Agbaou mine was expected to deliver some 103 000 oz/y over an eight-year mine life, from a measured and indicated resource of 1.1-million ounces, and a proven and probable reserve of 0.9-million ounces.
