Surface gold miner DRDGold is close to full restoration of metallurgical efficiencies at its Ergo plant, near Brakpan, on the East Rand, where new flotation and fine-grind circuit technology is well on the way to achieving expected recoveries. From July, wastewater will also be used operationally instead of critically scarce potable water, a move that will also help the company reduce its water bill, as abundant sewage water is far more cost effective.
