KwaZulu-Natal-based Dynamic Weigh Systems (DWS) is the African agent for Italian firm VEI Group’s range of onboard weighing and production monitoring systems for loaders, excavators, articulated- dump trucks (ADTs) and rigid dump trucks.
VEI, which was established in 1987 and pioneered the first loader scale systems, has a global footprint with 50 dealers in 56 countries.
The company prides itself on being a value-added supplier that allows for detailed cost per ton analysis based on highly accurate and user-friendly monitoring systems. The systems can tie into third party dispatch systems such as Modular and Wenco, among others.
The VEI range includes the Millennium 5 and Helper X ranges for loaders, excavators and ADTs and the Dumper Load monitoring system for off-highway rigid dump trucks. Rigid dump trucks can also make use of the Millennium 5 unit. There are also systems for forklifts and the reclamation industries.
All monitoring systems conform to European standards, including ISO 13766, ISO 14982, EN 50498, EN 61326 and SAE J1455.
Since DWS’ inception in June 2010, the local company has reported steady growth with its turnover currently in the range of between R1-million and R2-million a year. Since the start of the current financial year in March, DWS has invoiced about R1.7-million.
DWS has two full-time employees and contracts additional labour on an ad hoc basis.
