DRC event promises to be bigger, better in 2018

8th December 2017

The third edition of the DRC Mining Week exhibition and conference in 2018 will welcome mining experts to a unique platform for the enhancement of mining investment and operations in the heart of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s (DRC’s) mining hub.

The event is to be held in June in Lubumbashi, the country’s second largest city.

“We believe that providing an open dialogue between government, mining operators and technology service providers will strengthen productivity within daily operations in the region,” explains event organiser Spintelligent.

DRC Mining Week 2018 will be even bigger and better than the 2017 event, says the company, benefiting from increased exhibition space with unlimited outdoor space for showcasing equipment, tools and machinery.

“Responding to the success of the 2017 CEO roundtables, we will invite C-level representatives to share their views and experiences to increase private and public collaboration in a constrained mining market environment,” highlights Spintelligent.

The event also offers business-to-business networking services, with visitors able to derive the most out of their experience in the DRC by selecting business introductions ahead of next year’s DRC Mining Week, using its speed networking model.

Site visits are also on offer, with the organiser encouraging visitors to get their “hands dirty” and put themselves in the shoes of mining personnel to obtain the full experience of daily copper and cobalt operations.

Free technical workshops will also be available, while outdoor exhibitions will provide exhibitors a platform to showcase their equipment and machinery using hands-on demonstrations, giving delegates an opportunity to touch, feel and understand the innovations and technology on display.

The event is the largest mining and industrial platform in the DRC, according to Spintelligent sponsorship and exhibition manager Jean-Tite Oloumoussie, and is expected to attract more than 2 300 international professionals and local stakeholders from more than 50 countries, aiming to explore and showcase the vast investment opportunities the country has to offer in mining, agriculture, construction, energy and power, among others.

“[This year] has demonstrated once again the attractiveness of the DRC as a business destination for organisations looking to increase brand awareness, generate new leads, form new partnerships, and showcase products, services and technologies,” concludes Oloumoussie.
