Name of the Project
Dougou Extension (DX) sylvinite project.

Location
Sintoukola basin, Congo-Brazzaville.

Project Owner/s
Mineral exploration and development company Kore Potash.

Project Description
The project will exploit the DX sylvinite mineral resource, a sylvinite deposit with exceptionally high potassium chloride grade, compared with global potash operations.

The project hosts a proven and probable ore reserve of 9.31-million tonnes of sylvinite at an average grade of 35.7% potassium chloride, and a mineral resource of 129-million tonnes at an average grade of 24.9% potassium chloride.

The development of the project is expected to create a low operating-cost potash operation producing an estimated 400 000 t/y of K60 muriate of potash over its 12-year mine life.

Selective solution mining and processing technology will be used, resulting in minimal waste brine that will be disposed of into the sea.
