The Deloitte Intelligent Mine is a groundbreaking solution, which illustrates how digital transformation in mining addresses legacy industry challenges, safety improvements and enabling the required step change in performance. Deloitte has collaborated with a number of leading technology business partners to develop a uniquely compelling, integrated, market leading Intelligent Mining Solution. So far, four use cases have been developed or the intelligent Mine.
Short Interval Control: Through real-time or near real-time updates on leading performance indicators, front line supervisors and their managers are empowered by a more accurate and complete view of their areas of responsibility.
Gamified performance management: At the operator and team level, “Gamified performance management” enables real-time performance feedback at the end of a shift. By integrating operating metrics - collected underground, at the mining face - the operator can be notified of his previous shifts performance. He is notified of his team’s rank as well as individual rank as he leaves the mine via a gamified dashboard or USSD technology.
Predictive Maintenance: Our Predictive Maintenance solution combines a series of IoT devices on key mining equipment – sending real time operational metrics such as temperature, vibration, load factors, oil analysis and more to predictive monitoring algorithms. Engineers are able to see and monitor equipment vitals at any point in a shift. The predictive nature of the algorithms flag imminent failures, for a manage-by-exception way of work.
Integrated Digital Planning: “Integrated digital planning” enables rapid re-planning that empowers management to make fast and effective changes to plans, offering the capacity to rapidly adapt and generate an integrated and robust blueprint that considers multiple scenarios, limits deviations and provides stability under varying operational conditions.
