JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Continued stable demand for diamonds resulted in De Beers generating $450-million in its tenth sales cycle of the year.

This compares with the $466-million generated in the ninth sales cycle of this year and the $422-million earned in the tenth sales cycle of 2016.

“The tenth sales cycle of the year saw the continuation of good demand for De Beers rough diamonds as we head towards the end of 2017. Demand was broadly stable on the levels seen in Cycle 9, with sales slightly ahead of the equivalent period in 2016,” commented CEO Bruce Cleaver.
