PERTH (miningweekly.com) – The Sepeda lithium project, in Portugal, is expected to deliver its first production in mid-2019, owner Dakota Minerals reported on Monday.

The company said that the timing with first production coincided with the planned opening of various lithium-ion battery factories across Europe and the completion of capacity expansion at existing battery plants.

Dakota has launched a scoping study and an environmental-impact assessment (EIA) into the Sepeda lithium project, which is expected to complement the current metallurgical testwork under way.

The EIA will take 18 months to complete.
