CTC’s planned Open Day for Employers on 11 May 2018

4th April 2018 By: Creamer Media Reporter

CTC’s suppliers and prospective suppliers are being invited to take part in the Open Day for Employers planned for 11 May 2018. Each supplier will be requested to refer 10 prospective new employers that may be in need of CTC’s expert training services. The day will also be used to showcase their products. At this, our first open day event, we aim to have at least 25 exhibitors, each sponsoring at least 10 employers to attend.

In difficult economic times with low student enrolment numbers, suppliers to CTC must be expecting letters pleading for price reductions or easier terms. Instead they will receive the following appeal:

CTC wants to invite employers that are not yet training at CTC to attend an Open Day for Employers on 11 May 2018. We think our valued suppliers are able to help us with this. We are particularly interested in finding employers that have never trained at CTC before. We will advertise the event in the press and the radio to try and attract as many new employers to our open day as possible. Our current customers will be invited to the event as well, because they are priceless CTC brand ambassadors.

To create interest in our Open Day, we will, by way of a lucky draw, offer five training vouchers for free training (up to and including trade test) in any of the following trades: Electrician, Auto-Electrician, Fitting, Diesel Mechanic, Instrumentation, Rigging, Plater/Welder. Winners may select any trade from this list.

Obviously there will be food and refreshments in addition to the tours of our facilities and presentations. The presentations will include valuable information on Artisan Training and how CTC can partner with employers interested in youth development, including the recently announced Youth Employment Service.

Employers, Suppliers or Prospective Suppliers to CTC are requested to visit our website www.ctctraining.org and look for the “Employer Open Day” tab. On this tab they will have the option to register either as a “supplier” or an “employer”, by so – doing ensuring their invitation to the CTC Open day.

CTC has been offering artisan and mining related training to its owners, the Coal Mines of the Witbank Coalfields for more than 50 years. In recent years it has increased its capacity and ability to train artisans for any industry, to the extent that it has free capacity at the moment, and would like to make this available to employers that it has never serviced before; hence this initiative to host an Open Day for Employers.
