WE recently published a company profile on a company called Close-Up Mining, based on information supplied to us. The profile included the following sentence: “The company is 26% black-owned. This includes a 16% shareholding that was sold to Fraser Alexander in 2013/14, which is 100-owned by Royal Bafokeng Holdings, itself 51% black-woman-owned.” It is, in fact, incorrect that Royal Bafokeng Holdings is “itself 51% black-woman-owned”.
