Yield is a product by Chemsearch is a penetrating release agent that is designed to loosen stuck metal parts, it does so without damage to metal or metal threads and also contains a special inhibitor to prevent any further rust or corrosion.
When introduced at the plant, Matthew Henry was very impressed “I would like to pass on a thanks to Chemsearch, as this is now the 3rd GE Frame Three Turbine Overhaul we have conducted with no hot work needed during the disassembly of an engine. Past overhauls we have needed hot work to assist us with removal of bolts and in some cases to remove broken galled or bolts we just couldn’t remove. Since we have introduced Yield to our site it has made our job a lot safer, we are now able to remove all bolts in a timely manner without the need of exposing our team to hot work in our work environment.”
Together with Yield, Esso also uses a green partswashing system called the Torrent. This state of the art system developed by Chemsearch, effectively cleans individual engine parts faster and without personal contact during the cleaning process. The Torrent uses a combination of water, power and heat to clean, which is far removed from your traditional parts cleaner which generally consists of a sink and use of harmful chemicals. The Torrent has a unique closable lid with special gloves attached; so all parts are enclosed when cleaning. Being both water based and the cleaning process is enclosed, has greatly improves OHS in any work environment. As Mr. Henry states , “as a Supervisor at the Esso Longford, the safety features of this unit is now our new standard.”
