JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Coal of Africa (CoAL) has appointed Andrew Mifflin and Thabo Mosololi as directors, effective December 12.

This came as David Murray resigned as a director of the company, after serving as a member of the board for four years.

Mifflin, who has a BSc (Hons) in mining engineering from Staffordshire University as well as a Master’s degree in business administration, boasts over 30 years’ experience, specifically in the coal mining arena, having previously worked at the British Coal Corporation, Xstrata and, more recently, GVK Resources.

Mosololi is a chartered accountant qualified in South Africa who has “considerable” expertise as a director of various companies as well as from his time as FD and operations director at Tsogo Sun.

CoAL chairperson Bernard Pryor said he was delighted to welcome the newcomers to the board, adding that their experience would assist the company as it moved into the next phase of project development.

“We remain focused on ensuring that the board provides timely advice and support and that we retain the correct suite of skills at each stage of the company’s evolution,” he commented.
