Canada Lithium on track for first shipment in March

TORONTO (miningweekly.com) – Quebec project developer Canada Lithium on Thursday said commissioning of the mineral processing sections of the process plant continued on schedule with concentrate being produced on a regular basis and final electrical work and software programming being undertaken on the lithium carbonate circuits.

Canada Lithium said there would be a number of site visits by its offtake partners and various battery manufacturers as its approached the first shipment of lithium carbonate under the five-year Tewoo offtake agreement at the end of March.

The 20 000 t/y lithium carbonate processing plant is scheduled to complete ramp-up to full production by the fourth quarter this year.

Further, the company expected the final drawdown of C$25-million of the C$75-million debt facility from the banking syndicate to take place during February and March.

The company’s TSX-quoted stock traded down 1.15% apiece at 86 Canadian cents apiece on Thursday; however, it had gained 67.31% in value over the last six months.
