Project Description
The Buzwagi project will be an openpit operation, with a gravity-leach circuit. It is expected to produce between 250 000 oz/y and 260 000 oz/y in its first five full years of operation. Proven and probable reserves at Buzwagi are 3,6-million ounces of gold and 175-million pounds of copper contained within the gold reserves. The project is expected to benefit from synergies gained from shared infrastructure and the recent project development experience in building the Tulawaka mine, in Tanzania.

Value
The preproduction capital budget is $400-million.

Duration
Buzwagi is expected to begin production in mid-2009.

Latest Developments
At the end of 2008, the Buzwagi project was 90% complete. The first ore has been fed to the crusher and the project is on schedule to pour its first gold in the second quarter of 2009.
