JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Gold producer Caledonia Mining on Monday reported a 3.9% quarter-on-quarter increase in gold production at its 49%-owned Blanket mine, in Zimbabwe, for the quarter ended September 30.
Gold production for the quarter amounted to 12 042 oz, compared with the 11 588 oz produced during the second quarter. Production for the second quarter reflected a 10.7% increase on the 10 472 oz produced in the first quarter of the year.
Total gold production for the nine months ended September 30 increased by 1.4% year-on-year to 34 103 oz, compared with the 33 643 oz produced in the first nine months of 2012.
