The Competence Centre for Mineral Resources at the Southern African-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry will co-host the Mining Opportunities in Africa workshop at the House of German Economy, in Berlin, from March 17 to 18. To be attended by African and German businesspeople, the workshop will showcase the possibilities in Africa’s mining industry.

This will be the first time that the chamber works in cooperation with the German Federation of International Mining and Mineral Resources and the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry to present a workshop of this kind.

The workshop promises to highlight the possibilities for African and German business cooperation in the thriving mining sectors of many African countries.

During the two-day event, these industry stakeholders will engage in topics such as the prospects of African mineral deposits and technology transfers, as well as environmental and sustainability solutions.

Guest speakers include representatives from the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the German Engineering Foundation, the Rwanda Natural Resources Agency and Ghana’s Geological Surveys Department.

The German Federation of International Mining and Mineral Resources has hosted similar events in the past, working with the German chambers in Canada and Australia.

The Competence Centre for Mineral Resources is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy and is an information platform for the industry, providing relevant services and networking opportunities.
