Becker Mining set for new product launches at Electra

Becker Mining South Africa is to launch its new ICAS surface collision avoidance safety system at this year’s Electra Mining Africa.

Mining infrastructure system supplier Becker Mining South Africa, which celebrates 50 years of business this year, will again be showcasing a wide range of mechanical, electrical and electronic mining products at Electra Mining Africa.

“We will be launching many new products at this year’s show, including our track bound locomotive controller, charger and the latest collision avoidance products,” says Becker  Mining South Africa chief sales officer Johann Smit.

“Also on display will be our new belt rip scanner and misalignment products, as well as the recently launched VHF Becker Varis leaky feeder equipment.

“Highlights on our stand this year will be the live demonstration of products, interactive displays and technical presentations.

“Becker Mining South Africa’s commitment to providing a critical service to the mines and general industry encompasses the design and manufacture of products and systems, using the latest technology. Mine safety is significantly enhanced by the implementation of one or a combination of Becker’s specialised multi-technological solutions,” says Smit.

The company specialises in the design, manufacture and supply of energy distribution, automation, communication, transportation and roof support systems in underground mining infrastructure systems.

Becker’s equipment is manufactured by three wholly owned South African manufacturing companies – EMIS for electrical energy distribution systems, Bellambie Mining & Industrial for hoist rope attachments, roof support systems and lifting equipment and Becker Electronics for electronic automation and communication systems. Additional specialised product solutions and services are sourced from group operations abroad.
