JSE-listed Wesizwe Platinum has identified various defects in the Bakubung concentrator plant as it progresses the hot commissioning of the plant.
So far, a continuous test-running of the plant has been in effect, with the ultimate goal of reaching its optimum and permanent processing stage.
Between June 5 and June 18, a collective 1 530 t of material was milled but several defects were identified. These included lube system failures, excessive spillage on pulleys and trolleys and challenges with the hydraulic pump.
The company says it is working to ensure the experienced defects are attended to, and resolved urgently, to ensure it is able to commission the concentrator plant.
